Investigating the Impact of Entrepreneurial Strategic Planning on the Firm Performance of Food Industry in Shiraz from the Perspective of Managers

Abstract

All organizations are experiencing increasing competitive challenges in today̛s competitive environment. The rate of changes in new products and technologies and shifting in customer preferences has increased. The survival in such an environment is only possible thorough obtaining superior organizational performance. Therefore, it is necessary to consider the factors affecting the organizational performance. Entrepreneurial strategic planning is one of the factors affecting organizational performance. The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of entrepreneurial strategic planning dimensions including entrepreneurial orientation, environmental scanning, participation in planning and flexibility  of planning on the  organizational performance of food industry in Shiraz province. The population for this research involved 90 principal managers of the food industry in Shiraz. The standard questionnaires were used for data collection and data analysis was done using structural equation modeling and path analysis by PLS software. The results of this research indicate that entrepreneurial orientation, participation in planning and flexibility of planning are positively related to the firm performance, but  the effect  of scanning intensity is not supported.
